A fully integrated image management system

ChairSide Imaging (CSI) is an intuitive fully-integrated image management system that allows you to quickly store, retrieve, organize, categorize, edit, e-mail, and print ALL your patient digital images. CSI is the cornerstone of ‘Visual Charting’ and is a fully mature system that has grown to meet the needs of our clients and promote optimal operatory work-flow.

Acquisition

ChairSide Imaging interfaces directly with the hardware that acquires the digital image - you no longer require a “bridge” to another application. You can use CSI instead of using the basic software that is often included with a digital radiography system to capture and store digital x-rays. Not only will using CSI for your images allow you to take advantage of the integrated benefits of ‘Visual Charting’, you will also have peace of mind knowing that CSI is truly hardware independent. Easily work with images that have been captured by various digital radiography systems, something that is often not the case with the software included with digital radiography systems. For optimal operatory work-flow, we have designed a “hands-free” Auto Take feature to efficiently take direct digital X-rays without touching a keyboard or mouse. CSI also allows for live image capture directly from a video source and various digital radiography systems with Quick Image acquisition (without requiring an associated patient).

Editing and Organization

ChairSide Imaging has all the standard digital radiography image enhancement tools you expect to see in a mature system, such as gamma and histogram equalization features, as well as auto equalize, remap intensity, and remove noise and many more. However, we have also added an auto enhancement feature (macro) and some advanced “smart” editing and cropping features (such as crop to centre/container size) that allow you to easily manipulate and enhance images quickly and consistently. A sophisticated Mount Designer allows you to design an unlimited number of image series that will automatically “tag” image properties during acquisition. You can also use several tools (magnify/brightness/contrast/invert) to zoom in and closely examine details of important areas, or take advantage of a full complement of image annotations that allow you to draw attention to important image features. Repetitive functions that normally take several steps and numerous mouse clicks in other systems have been optimized in CSI so that you can perform these tasks with minimal effort.

Case Presentation

Case presentation has become a popular and important aspect of many dental professionals. With ChairSide Imaging you can enhance your case presentation results by grouping images by customizable categories. For greater impact on your patient, you can easily show before and after images of work you actually performed, rather than using stock images from an unknown dentist. To keep images consistent, CSI offers a centre-line grid and the ability to rotate images freely to help properly align all facial photos. This feature, along with our special cropping functions, is especially important for those who do any cosmetic/orthodontic case presentations. CSI also has the added capability of storing and capturing short videos which can be used for treatment diagnosis even after the patient has left the office. Multiple images or an entire mount can be automatically converted to (smaller) JPG or PDF files and e-mailed with only two clicks!

ChairSide Imaging Lite

For clients who require only basic imaging storage and editing functionality, ChairSide Imaging also comes in a Lite version. This is ideal for offices that have not yet implemented a digital radiography system and simply want to store images for patients. CSI Lite can be upgraded to the complete version of CSI at any time, allowing you to take a “walk before you run” approach to implementing ‘Visual Charting’.

Tracker integration

Not surprisingly, no company can integrate products with Tracker better than The Bridge Network. Within Tracker you can get quick access to view patient images in CSI right from the patient folder. The patient default “head shot” image is also automatically placed in the patient’s file so that all staff can put a face to the name without going into CSI. As more of our clients implement CSI and our concept of ‘Visual Charting’, the tight integration between Tracker, CSI, and CSC will blur the lines of separation to make you feel that you are using one seamless application.
